International Agri-Center® Prepares for California Antique Farm Equipment Show®

Tulare, CA – The California Antique Farm Equipment Show® will kick off on April 20 at 8:00 a.m. in Tulare, CA. The event features antique tractors, trucks and engines, a 4-H livestock fair, tractor pulls, and many more family-friendly activities during the event weekend. The show runs Friday, April 20, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Saturday, April 21, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, April 22 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Tony Ramos, the 2018 show chairman, grew up on a dairy in Easton, CA, and has farmed cotton, hay, and beans before he began farming almonds in 1973. Ramos said, “I planted almonds before almonds were cool.”

Ramos is a self-proclaimed “International Harvester guy,” but used John Deere equipment in his farming operation. He likes to use this show as a way to educate city and farm families on agriculture heritage.

New attractions this year include antique military equipment, bull bucking, and a Sunday Tractor Pull. Bull Bucking starts at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, and finishes with larger bulls and riders in the late afternoon. The first Tractor Pull will be Friday night at 6:00 p.m. and is open to antique tractors from the show. The new Sunday Tractor Pull starts at Noon, and features tractors from Valley Tractor Pullers Association.

The tractor parade kicks off at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with antique military equipment and a salute to former Show Chairman Doug Peltzer.

In addition to antique tractors, trucks and engines, attendees can look forward to good old-fashioned family fun, including earth moving demonstrations, antique auction, Tulare County 4-H Fair, a Kid’s Area, and boutique shopping.
