Ag Career Expo to educate local teens

Tulare, CA – The International Agri-Center® is hosting the 3rd annual Ag Career Expo for local High School juniors and seniors on Wednesday, April 11 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The goal of the event is to educate students on the careers in agriculture that await them after graduation from High School and college. According to Kerissa Chapman, coordinator of the event, “Students have the opportunity to learn about career paths from local ag businesses, network for future opportunities, and develop their interview skills.”

The morning starts with a keynote address by Dr. Louann Waldner of College of the Sequoias. From there, students visit with local businesses in expo-style booths. After visiting booths, students and exhibitors will continue their conversations during a shared lunch, sponsored by Domino’s Pizza and Happy Cookers Catering.

The event is made available to High School teachers and students in area school districts by invitation only. Media outlets are welcome to cover the private event.
