Tulare, CA –The International Agri-Center® is hosting the inaugural Ag Career Exploration Day for local high school and college students on Wednesday, March 13 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Previously known as “Ag Career Expo,” the day is highlighted by a keynote address from guest speaker Beth Ford, Land O’ Lakes CEO. The goal of the event is to help students explore careers in agriculture that await them after graduation from high school and college.

According to Kerissa Chapman, Ag Education Manager for the International Agri-Center®, “Ag Career Exploration Day provides students with a first-hand opportunity to learn from professionals in a variety of ag careers. The industry representatives that will be speaking are CEOs, directors, ag inspectors, and range from ag marketing to ag science. Our goal is to prepare students and educate them on the multitude of careers in agriculture.”

The morning begins with an ice breaker and introduction of career opportunities. Students will then go to various break-out sessions inside the Farm Credit Dairy Center at the International Agri-Center®. After a networking lunch, students will hear a keynote address from Beth Ford, Land O’ Lakes CEO. The day will conclude with an educational panel from Universal Technical, College of the Sequoias, Modesto Junior College, Fresno State, and Cal Poly.

The revamped event was developed by the International Agri-Center® in partnership with Tyler Ribeiro, Workforce Investment Board, and Vanguard Ag. Limited space for attendees is still available upon request. Educators are invited to reach out to Kerissa Chapman at kerissa@farmshow.org for more information.
